Bookish Thursday - February Reads
Fourteen books have passed through my hands this month. While it seems like a lot, I have to admit I abandoned one of the books.
A couple of surprises...
The Will of the Many by James Islington, Shield of Sparrows by Denver Perry and The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett were a bit of a surprise to me. I normally find myself disappointed with books which have gotten a lot of hype. Both of these books, however, have me reaching for Book 2 in the series.
If you are looking for a book which leans on the Roman Empire, but in a different time and place, then The Will of the Many is right up your alley. Secrets of the whole society, much like Red Rising, abound. And someone being groomed to find out the truth behind those secrets is central.
And although I did guess one of the twists in the book early on (you would have to be blind not to), I am excited about continuing this series.
I did go back and read some of the backlists for a couple of favorite authors -
- The King's Ransom by Janet Evanovich
- Three Kinds of Lucky by Kim Harrison
- The Bride Wore White by Amanda Quick
- The Other Lady Vanishes by Amanda Quick
- The Shop on Hidden Lane by Jayne Ann Krentz
Rounding out my reading list for February was one book which you will read about in March, as I am doing a book blog tour of reviews on it. The rest of my monthly reading were...
- How to Become a Gardener by Ashlie Thomas - a fantastic read, not only about how to garden, but why you garden
- Witches of Dubious Origins by Jenn McKinlay
- The Menu of Happiness by Hisashi Kashiwai
- Countdown to Riches: 21 Days of Wealth Attracting Habits by Rhonda Byrne
I haven't figured out what I'll be reading yet in March, but I am happy with my February reading.
