Week in Review - June 30 - July 6
It was a busy week, a relatively quiet 4th of July and a busy 6th!
Monday was a quick trip to pick up a computer from Lady K - which she wasn't supposed to have taken home with her! Actually, 4 hours in the car isn't a quick trip, but I used the time to run up to Fletcher, North Carolina to pick up some fabric and sewing supplies.
Then a meeting with a herb society member for brainstorming on meeting plans for our August presentation. Of course, it also meant we had to go get lunch together. And while I was out I stopped at a Goodwill (senior day!) and found a Food Saver vacuum sealer for less than $10 - with some bags still.
I was 'canned' on Wednesday. I canned tomatoes and corn and managed to add a couple hundred words to my word count.
Thursday was a 'ride along' with my herb society member. She wanted to visit a farm stand for peaches, so off we went. Of course, we arrived at lunch time and had a hamburger before making our purchases and heading home. This day I added about 1000 words to my word count.
Finishing up the canning for the week with peaches. As a result of canning sliced peaches, I had some peachy simple syrup. I left a pint with Foxy for making peach iced tea. I was messaged adding it to some gin was better.
Saturday...
TOUR DE FRANCE!
It also meant I had the living room cleared and a sewing table set up. Made great headway on a couple of projects.
Then Sunday was the busiest of all. If you count being in the car for a little over 9 hours being busy.
Running Lady K to Savannah for a week with her mom. Mr. Savannah took us downtown and walked us around.
I have never visited Savannah before other than a couple of quick trips to drop Foxy's stuff off. Not only did he walk Lady K and I around, but he is also very knowledgable about the history of the area. It was hot and a bit busy with tourists, but we managed a couple of 'occult' stores, walking through one of the hotels which was filled with fossils and crystals and a view of the harbor.
The downtown area is so beautiful and I can't wait for a return trip - which will happen next Sunday when I pick Lady K up. We were going to meet halfway and swap her off, but an offer to visit Bonaventure Cemetery changed those plans.
This coming week will hopefully see some progress not only on sewing and writing, but mowing too. Of course, I am praying for rain. Every bit of rain the past week has come to my house and skipped right over it. Stupid rain!
But for now, back to my boys on bikes!
