Writing Wednesday - I'm Blaming the Dummy!
I've added about 500 words to my word count for the month. Which is FAR less than I was hoping to have on paper (or in the computer) at this point in time. But I have an excuse - it's the dummy's fault!
You see, I set up my sewing area - formally known as my living room - in order to sew and watch the Tour de France.
And when I started I was going to be doing some book pouches, planner covers and pencil pouches. But then I ran across the boatload of Halloween fabric I have been hoarding saving and decided to at least use some of it.
Therefore, I spent all one day cutting out hundreds of 6.5 inch blocks to make this patchwork skirt for Foxy. She is my Halloween fiend (in more ways than one).
I still have the final tier to add to the bottom of the skirt. It's the largest tier and will make the skirt more of a maxi than knee-length. The dress maker's dummy came downstairs in order to allow me to figure out how to pen the last row onto the bottom of the skirt.
In all honesty, as this skirt came together, Foxy almost isn't getting it. However, I put the elastic in the waist, so unless I rip out the waistline, I can't wear it.
Hopefully, today will be the last day working on this skirt. But I do need to go out and do some mowing and trimming on the yard. Maybe.
