Writing Wednesday - Where Does Time Go?

I SWEAR! I PROMISE!

I have been trying to sit down in front of the computer and write more than some posts. I really, really have.

However, as you will see in greater detail later in the week, I have been doing that 'survivalist' thing and canning like crazy. Which is really odd since it's just me in the house. Well, 2 dogs and 3 cats, but they don't care about canning tomatoes, beans, peaches, etc. I guess Slider does care as if it is something I am eating, he figures he is entitled to some. Or he will drool on the carpet.

Between a whole day driving from my house, to Savannah, to Little Mountain, back home - that's a little over 9 hours of driving. Not to mention having to stop for gas - and food. And then I'm wiped out.

Of course, there is no rest for the 'wicked'...

Canning is winding down. At least until I get my hands on some field peas to put in the freezer.

But...

Murder has been on my mind. And I did ponder of a certain thought for several minutes. Then I had to leave the kitchen for a bit and do a check-in with Foxy to be sure I wasn't going nuts. Yes, that is not a good judge of mental state, but it does help.

You see...

I bought a pork loin from the grocery store on Monday. It was 10 pounds and marked down to $14. Bargain! And I now have a vacuum sealer, so super easy to slice into boneless pork chops and seal up 2 at a time in a bag for the freezer. (I got 24 chops out of the loin, by the way.)

However...

As I am there, with my knives which are so dull I have difficulty with butter which has been in the fridge, sawing away at this almost 3 foot long piece of meat, thinking...

"Dismembering a body is not an easy way to get rid of a body."

Yes, my mind was going there. Thinking about how hard it would be and how long it would take to cut someone up after you kill them.

So see, I am thinking about my murder mystery. Hint - bodies are not dismembered in the book - too hard!

By the end of the week, all the canning will be done. My quilting will be slowing down to a reasonable pace. And there are no plans to get Lady K in the next couple of weeks, nor will I be driving down to Savannah. Thus word count should be increasing.

But time...really...you need to stand still a bit!
