Writing Wednesday - Will Life Please Slow Down!
It's Thanksgiving week and Lady K has been here since Friday night. She is going back today so she can celebrate with the other side of her family. Which means today is basically out of the question for sitting down and getting words on paper.
Getting Lady K is at least 4 hours. I schedule my day for a 5 hour block. Mainly because I will sit and talk to her other grandparents some before we leave. However, I have a meeting with someone who might be a collaboration on the gardening sort. So today is basically crossed off as getting any writing done (but I might try to get some words squeezed in).
Thanksgiving Day will be spent on either writing, gardening or quilting. Or a combination of all three in some way. I have some things I need to get in the ground, but the temperatures are going to drop by about 20 degrees starting today.
I did get my desk semi-cleaned up and dusted as I was working on a couple of things with Lady K which involved bringing out the Cricut machine yesterday. The 4 stockings for Savvy and family are done. I just need to get them into a box and heading toward Arizona as soon as possible.
Friday is also out of the question. Friday morning I need to dig up some plants to take to the Heritage Garden a friend and I are planting with a winter garden Friday afternoon. One good thing about this project is I get to donate a ton of cabbage seedlings to the person who works with the school gardens. he wants my extras. So win-win.
With moving Foxy back here and Thanksgiving with Lady K being here, I had set my word goal to 15,000 for the month. I really wanted 50,000, but decided to be realistic. I'm at a little over 10,000 words, so not impossible with a couple of devoted writing days to meet my goal.
December will probably be a bit more 'relaxed'...especially if I can knock out getting some quilting done too. But December is already stacking up with a handful of 'workshops' on planning 2026. While December might be less hectic, there will be a lot of contemplation and 'figuring' going on.
But since my word for 2026 is 'COMPLETE', I would like to have a rough draft finished by the end of January to edit in February.
Today...
Breakfast, shower and get ready for the day ahead.
