Writing Wednesday - Retra
Yesterday I received my reward from a project I backed on Kickstarter. I have backed several projects over the years and I pounced on this retractable pen issued by Endless. They make Alchemy ink, of which I have purchased from Good Postage and enjoy.
I have been drooling over the idea of a retractable fountain pen for ages. However, most of them I have seen enter the 3-digit price range. Just can't part with that kind of money yet, especially if I didn't know if I would enjoy the pen or not.
The fact I can fill from the nib into a refillable cartridge is nice. Sort of a Twsbi-style pen in that respect. But I do have to open up the pen to remove the nib and cartridge to fill.
So far, I am still adjusting to the 'wobbly' feel of the pen. I imagine part of that feeling is because it is a retractable pen, so the nib isn't as firm in the body of the pen. The more I write with it while at my desk, the more I am enjoying it. Not having to uncap and recap when I start and stop writing is a bonus.
Will see how it holds up as I am not 'precious' with my fountain pens. I don't have a special case for my pens. But if anyone would like to treat me to one, I won't say no. Right now, most of my more expensive pens (still under $50 each for the most part), are in a Bento box and slid under a cubbyhole on my desk.
Now to decide what the next pen I want to get my hands on!
