About the Sisters behind Under Cover of Chaos
Liz Wanic worked for the United Nations for almost a decade in New York and in multiple field missions, including Syria, Mali and the Central African Republic before moving into cybersecurity. Her experiences have given her a sharp eye for detail and a deep understanding of the inner workings of power in complex situations.
Rebekah Wanic, Liz's twin sister, is a social psychologist, university professor and mindset coach. She focuses on the intricacies of the human condition and the complications of balancing competing demands.

Now my opinion...
One thing which drew me to this book was the main character being part of an UN mission. In my far distant youth, I had toyed with the idea of one day working at an embassy somewhere in the world. That, and joining the Peace Corps. However, with the idea of being an embassy employee, I only had visions of being in Paris or Berlin or some other glitzy capital in the world. Never did I stop to consider there are people working in less than optimal circumstances in the world.
This isn't a book which has you tripping through the cafes of Paris, but rather the harsh conditions of a lesser developed country. You feel how Stella is trying, as a novice to this type of situation, to uncover the mystery of the deaths of several young women and how they may, or may not, tie in with other deaths she is aware of.
Some nice twists in the story to keep you hooked. Well worth an afternoon or two with a cool drink on a hot summer day, helping Stella solve the mystery before she might herself become a victim.
