Week in Review - August 20 - 26

Busy week putting all the finishing touches on the last week of summer vacation for Texter and Lady K. School starts tomorrow and not a moment too soon for the two of them.

Texter's week was filled with meetings at school and reorganizing her room. If you want someone to look at a room and come up with more space for you...she's for hire!

For myself? Well, I've been a material girl all week.

Three quilt tops finished! Ok, one finished and the other two in a state of near completion.

Actually, the center one, Almond Country Beauty only has one more seam left, attaching the last spiky border. Then it's Batman's turn for some finishing.

Texter and I discovered the new 'Oui' yogurt and loving it. And it comes in little glass jars which we are saving for future craft projects. Thinking candles for Christmas presents at the present time.

I 'babysat" a friend's garden while she was away for a long week. No rain in Montana means you have to have a water person if you go away.

Isn't it terrible I was forced to look at things like this in her yard! Some people are so mean! (Garden post in a couple of days!)

But the biggie this week was of course...

The Eclipse!

You can see the sky is darker and if you look closely you can see the 'fuzzy' around the solid circle. Without proper filters this is what we saw. But if was interesting. It did get a weird, shadowy morning and the temperature did drop a bit.

Savvy and I set out some of our crystals and cards and water to 'charge' during the eclipse. Hopefully, a sip of the water every now and then will bring positive events into our lives. Or at least make us more mindful of things.

Other than the above this past week...

  • Wrote 4 posts
  • Started back on my morning pages
  • Continued tracking the Hobonichi release updates and deciding on what I want for my planner in 2018
  • Finished 2 books, one of which included a pattern for a future quilt I am designing
  • Watched a ton of YouTube videos while sewing
  • Lots of Lady K watching while Texter in meetings
  • Started mug mats for Christmas presents

The coming week...

  • School starts!!!!!!!!
  • Finish up the Dog in Sweater pillow cover (need orange thread)
  • Finish up the Batman top
  • Pick out backing and bindings for both Batman and Almond Country quilts
  • Getting back into a routine now school is in
  • More reading and knitting
Well, it's off for more coffee and my "French Breakfast" this morning - yogurt, fresh peaches and a croissant.
