Week in Review - September 18 - 24, 2023

It's been a week filled with a lot of fun things!

Last Monday, Mr. Cobra drove Texter and I down to see Lady K play a soccer game. Thank goodness he was driving as the return trip was past my bedtime. But it was a pleasant evening outside and watching the game was, well, an experience.

Wednesday I took the plain white linen curtains and dyed them a rich marigold in color. I have other white curtains I may dye for the 'seasons'. Loving the pop of color in the grey room.

I did manage to get a bit of gardening done and made a small flower bed around the mailbox. Loving it and can't wait until spring when the tulips come up (fingers crossed).

There was also a book blog tour posted on Thursday and a lot more to come. Just about every Thursday until the end of the year - so I better get reading!

The talk at this month's Extension Master Gardener meeting was on Dahlias - a flower I never thought I would be interested in. That is until I grew some from seed a couple of years ago. And now I want more! And bigger! So can you guess what is on the docket for 2024?

Also, on Tuesday I went to Good Postage and did a 'pencil board' making. The weather was perfect for sitting outside the shop with 7 other women making them. We cut out pictures and made our pencil boards (used in planners to make a firm surface for writing). They were then laminated. So much fun.

I also buzzed my hair off again. Once again I am rocking the 'hedgehog' look, as Lady K calls it. I think I'm going to invest in a pair of clippers so I can do my own hair.

Chili was made earlier in the week and Chicken and Dumplings a couple of days ago. Part went into the freezer in single serving packages.

Other gardening done was clearing out my right front flower bed and planting the 'Baby Kim' Lilac bush.

I finished 3 books too.

This coming week will be exciting!

  • Lady K has one soccer game and a picture night - not sure if we will go to one or both or neither
  • Two book blog tour posts on the same day! Both of them are for kids and loved them both.
  • The last class on Healthy Living with Diabetes
  • Trip with the Extension Master Gardeners to High Point University to tour their conservatory and then a couple of nurseries.

and, most EXCITING OF ALL...

TEXTER AND MR. COBRA
ARE
GETTING MARRIED!!

So, off for a couple of hours for work and then home to get ready for the wedding. It will be at the magistrates office (they don't want a fuss - or expense).  And then dinner at Texas Roadhouse to celebrate.
