Writing Wednesday - July and Quarter 3
Boy!
May was 'Mayhem'!
June was settling in and trying to establish a routine. Not sure if we are there yet.
So...
Long story short - Lady K is now living with Foxy and me. The benefits of the school down with her father and other grandparents was outweighed by the 'drama' going on in South Carolina.
She is here. She is safe. She is happy and much more relaxed.
She is enrolled in the middle school only about 6 blocks from my house and set up for band. In fact, she is over the moon as the 8th grade band will be going on a trip to Disney in March, 2027. Foxy will probably wind up being a 'band mom' at the school.
Therefore, we are adjusting to 3 people in a smallish house. And 5 cats and 2 large dogs.
And since I thrive on a routine, and life has not been conducive to routine, little writing has been done over the past month and a half.
But we are settling in and waiting for school to start in about 6 weeks. The garden is flourishing despite the rising temperatures. I'm working outside the home and Foxy is now a brand ambassador for someone and streaming. Lady K is loving being in a household where gaming, anime, manga, going to the library and dyeing your hair blue are understood and encouraged.
For me, July marks Rough Draft Challenge with Sarra Cannon and her Heart Breathings channel. Plus it is Tour de France time!
My goal in July for the Rough Draft Challenge is to step up my posting. Keeping it simple for the next month. (Did I mention I also researched and created two programs for the library Seed Bank and presented them in May and June?) Plus I am starting 'examples' for the August program for the Seed Bank and creating the power point for it (last one for the year for me!)
I also want to move forward on other things in Quarter 3 of the year:
- Work on a new website
- Decide what planner I am going to order for 2027 from Hobonichi
- Get Lady K settled in school
- Can tomatoes and beans
- Work on Anise Sweetgum story
- Fall planting started in the garden
- Figure out an Instagram strategy and look into Substack
So life is busy, but it is a joy having Lady K here. Just wish the 100 degree weather stayed away a while longer!
