Week in Review - September 1 - 7, 2025

I won't lie. I am dreaming of cool Fall days. We had it, sort of, for a few days, and then the heat came back. But I am more than ready for crisp mornings and cool evenings with a pleasant day in between.

The week started out so busy. A bit over 800 miles driven in one day with a couple of stops to drop off meals and to pick up goodies from La Farm Bakery. All of which meant Tuesday was spent semi-comatose, resting.

Of course, between everything else, I spent the week listening to coverage of the Donna Adelson trial. There is a big difference between being involved in your children's lives and being INVOLVED in their lives. She was sentenced to life in prison. Being 'The Matriarch' of your family and in your 70's and heading to prison, needless to say, she has shown zero remorse over what she orchestrated. In fact, when the verdict was read, her attitude was more 'pissed-off' than anything. She couldn't even generate fake tears.

The rest of the week has been house cleaning, some yard work (my mower back from the shop) and doing bits of this and that...

  • Made ghee out of 2 pounds of butter
  • Juiced and made 2 quarts of peach nectar
  • Made several quarts/pints of Bloody Mary Mix and plain tomato juice
  • Set up my hydroponics for salad greens inside
  • Moved the sewing to my bedroom and organized the living room a bit
  • Started thinking of projects I want to complete by the end of 2025 and start in 2026

This coming week...

  • Mowing the yard
  • Setting up the fall veggie garden
  • Taking note of herbs to harvest and things which need dividing
  • Work a few hours working at the Rotary Club Community Garden
  • An herbal seminar online
  • A library Cricut class
  • Hopefully, a trip to pick up Foxy and go watch Lady K play in the marching band at a high school football game

But in the meantime, I do have a really good series I am reading, one of which is really fun...
