Refurnishing A Desk

Yesterday morning, while drinking my morning cup(s) of coffee and before work, I checked craigslist for anything new and interesting being given away free and found this desk.

There are 3 drawers with it, which are residing in the spare bedroom right now until I decide what I want to do.  I have envisioned painting it a dark shade on the outside and then a lighter tone on the inside.  Thinking of 'lining' it also with decorative paper or fabric.  I have several ideas going around in my head and some images I have pinned on my Pinterest board. 

I can see Savvy using this for her laptop and writing (or my writing).  Of course, those imaginings also include sitting there, a'la Jane Austen, in some sort of period garb.  Then, one of the images I have pinned, is a desk where they left out the drawers and just put in baskets.  Ran that idea by Texter, and she really liked that idea.  Actually, I saw a gleam in her eye I didn't really like - like maybe it will go in her room? 

So while I am going on in my mind with all these wonderful decorating ideas, I happened to look at Lady K as she is dressed so far this morning.

Well, there are shades of pink and blue in both.  And they are both stripes (of a sort).  Yep, it's sad.  Maybe I need to rethink this whole decorating idea.
