Cookout Shoutout

In this household, we are all about the free food.  We give blood because we can get a snack after it's over with.  Sad, I know, but true.

So when Savvy announced the crew at Jensen Jewelers were doing a cookout and did we want to go...

Well, load up the car!

And besides a free meal, I 'discovered' this lovely little campground just minutes away from home!

Can you beat the view?  And there we are, nestled in on the bottom left of the picture.  A fire in the pit, to roast our hot dogs and marshmallows.  And a grill master to cook our burgers.

After a great meal, complete with chips and watermelon, Lady K needed some exploring time, so off I waddled walked after her.

As the shadows lengthened, and we remembered we all had to be at work the next day, we packed up and drove home.  

It always amazes me how good a simple hot dog tastes when eaten with good friends, laughing around a campfire.  Marshmallow roasting challenges aside, of course.
