Positive Focus Sunday - Permission Not To Do

Let's see...my life the past few weeks...

  • Working 40 hours a week (or darn close to it)
  • Accepted for a part-time work-from-home job which will be 10-20 hours a week
  • Taking 2 online courses
  • Buying a house!
  • Keeping up with blog tour commitments
  • Trying to write posts for my own blog

And that's just the tip of the iceberg!

So something has to give.

I know from the past, if I allow myself to become overwhelmed, tired, or frustrated (or all of the aforementioned), then my overall mood goes from being positive and fairly upbeat to crawl-in-the-closet, I'm a worthless human being for not being able to do it all.

Which is good for no one, especially for me.

So there are times I come home from work, remove my uniform, put on comfy sweats and just sit like a lump and watch True Crime shows for a couple of hours with my eyes fairly glazed over.

And you know what?

It's perfectly ok!

I feel like a watch or phone you put on a charger. I'm recharging the old batteries.

Now that the weather is getting nicer, I am also sitting on the porch, looking at my seed trays (and plotting more planting) and enjoying being outside for a bit.

Are either of those things 'getting things done'?

No.

But what they are allowing me to do is to rest and breathe, so I can, a bit later or the next day, get things done.

So for now, I'm fine with not getting 100% of the things on my to-do list accomplished. It's fine and I'm ok with that. (Somewhat!)
