Positive Focus Sunday - October TBR and November TBR

On one hand I am a bit disappointed I didn't finish the whole stack of books on my October TBR stack.

I 'officially' had 21 books on my list to read. And I did manage to finish 17 books and DNF 1 book. Two books are about halfway through and I will roll them over to November.  However, of those 18 books, 7 of those books were not on my original list. Three of the books were short middle grade books I read for a blog tour, 1 was a cookbook, 1 was a guide book for hikes in North Carolina and 2 were audio books I was able to check out.

So I am happy with the quantity of books I finished and also the quality of the books. I have been happily reading and have a couple of 'new-to-me' authors I am going to be reading their backlists in the coming months.

For November, I am rolling over several of the books from October.

Four of the books were given to me to review. Blind Spot by Robert Hoffman, Breaking the Silence by Nancy King are for blog tour reviews and The Talented Miss Farwell by Emily Gray Tedrowe and The Nocturnals by Tracey Hecht I 'won' off Goodreads and need to review.

I am fortunate in that I have Red Rising, Muse of Nightmares and Half Sick of Shadows on audio. With a 30 minute drive in each direction to/from work, I do manage to get in a lot of audio books. Plus, if I am there by myself, which is normally 2 days a week, I get in 3-5 more hours of listening to an audio book.

Castle Shade and Serpent and Dove, from my October list, are being rolled over as I am about halfway through both of them. Then I have at least 2 more books from Net Gallery to read and review.

This brings my total to 13 books for November. It's almost half of what I had on my list for October. However, November is also NaNoWriMo month, so it will cut into my reading time. Plus, this gives me room to add additional books from Net Gallery or Goodreads I have agreed to read and review.

Now to work and come home, turning off all the lights and reading by a small light so I don't have to hand out candy to the trick or treaters.
