Whatever Thursday - Drowning in Books!

I love surrounding myself with books. In fact, I am over the moon that I have a $10 off coupon for IKEA which means my Laiva bookcase will only be $10. It will be the fifth of these bookcases.

There a several authors whose books I collect (and yes, reread). I lost a lot of books in the fire and am slowly adding back to my library. I just love the smell and feel of a 'real' book.

Anyway...

I also make HUGE use of my library system. Right now my headboard is filled with books on loan. Sixteen books! The rest are my TBR (to be read) on various shelves. In fact, I have seven books so are from Fairy Loot which I haven't read yet.

In other words, I have a LOT of books I need to read.

I have also been watching YouTube videos from a couple of book tubers who unbox Fairy Loot and other similar subscriptions. And also read the genres I really enjoy. In fact, my NEED TO READ list is about 50 books longer now!

As I am watching their videos, they are setting up their September TBR lists. Which has inspired me to do my own TBR list for September (or the rest of the month).

To come up with the list, I selected books I have already started (I start and read several different books at a time). I have a couple of books which I need to read for a blog tour coming up. I also picked a book from the Fairy Loot books.  The list is a mixture of everything from nonfiction, spirituality, and fantasy.

I am not going to beat myself up over finishing these books. Mainly because it is a HUGE pile of books. But I thought it would be interesting to see how it would go.

This is actually a reread. And I am really reading it on Kindle. This book will be sent to a fellow genealogy buddy. It is a book I bought a few years ago, loaned it and didn't get it back. I thought I had rebought it, but couldn't find it, so I bought it on Kindle. Then I found the book. Anyway, I am dipping into my family genealogy as I have gotten some new information about a grandparent I didn't know a thing about.

There will be more coming about this book later as it is for a book blog tour. I was a little skeptical about it as I adore Eat, Pray, Love and admire women who have the balls  tits to give up everything and move to another country. I have already started it and am really enjoying it. It will probably be finished by the end of the week as I am enjoying it so far.

Another book, which I overlooked while making this list, is nonfiction also - Craft in the Real World by Matthew Salesses. I have also started this book and want to finish it up in time for NaNoWriMo and Preptober.

And for my 'spirit' reading...

I identify as a hedge or green witch. And a solitary one at that. No coven or mass dancing moonclad under the full moon. But I am always trying to learn more and I am tired of trying to hide my beliefs. So there.

Then there is the fiction stack, many of which have already been started.

This is from the library stack. The story is about Maisie, who is cursed with the ability to kill or resurrect with a touch. She has been kept away from the world her whole life. Then one day her father disappears and she is now alone in the world and must find out what happened to her father. Interesting read so far.

Another library book which I left off the picture, is The Widow Queen by Elzbieta Cherezinska. The synopsis reads - "In this epic saga of family, love, and war, we meet a battle-tested exile returning to claim his rightful throne; a bloodthirsty prince hungering for his father's crown; an honorable Viking leader thrust into the politics of nobility; and a young woman with the power to raise or ruin the fates of them all."

The author is Polish and this is her first novel translated into English. I have also started this book and it's pretty good so far.

This is my first Fairy Loot book. The premise is a young girl who has been living in a prison healing those in there. One day she gets a note to not let the Rebel Queen, who was just put into the prison, from dying. So we will see what happens.

Another couple of books I have already started are on the pile.

Dune - House Corrino is a prequel to Dune. I have enjoyed the other two books which go into the history of the houses and this is no exception.

For the Wolf is about twins who are fated to fulfill certain roles - one to rule and one to go into the woods to be a sacrifice to 'The Wolf'. It's really enjoyable so far.

So that's my ambitious list of books. The only conciliation is I have already started most of the books and I just need to finish them...

And not start any more until I do!

Oh, I am also listening to The Near Witch by V. E. Schwab on my ride to/from work mainly. I am almost to the end of the book and will need to pick another book. I might try and find one which is on my bookshelf to listen to rather than reading the actual book.

So 10 books for September. I'll keep you posted.
