Writing Wednesday - Reading Logs for 2022

I am in the process of setting up my 'systems' for 2022.

In some cases I feel like I am simplifying my planners for 2022. On the other hand, I may be adding to my planners. I'm not really sure at this point.

However, for 2022 I plan on tracking my reading, writing more reviews, participating in a couple of yearlong challenges - the whole gamut of things to do with books!

My 'main' reading notebook is a Hobonichi notebook. I love the paper in Hobonichi products.

Anyway, I realized this year I have been getting books from subscription boxes, winning them on Goodreads, buying them - and yet I'm not reading them in a timely manner. So this will track where books come from into my library and track actually reading them.

I have also written a couple of lists where I want to play catch-up and read their past books - like Sword and Laser on Goodreads. I have been following them for years and listening to their podcasts and want to read the majority of the books they have already read.

A list of books I want to buy will also be included.

Guilty confession - I love the books I receive from Fairy Loot and Owl Crate (just cancelled that subscription) and too, Illumicrate. I am in love with books with sprayed edgings and being signed. I have also discovered the British editions of books are so much nice than ones here in the U.S. I want to 'collect' series that are beautifully decorated and I just can't find them here in the states. So I am going to have to suck it up and pay shipping from England. Sigh...

If anyone knows of a subscription box or someplace which offers all the bells and whistles of the U.K. subscription boxes, please let me know.

But I do have some series I want to buy a complete collection which are all nice and pretty and decorated to match. I'm so (book) vain!

I also need to fill in some missing books by authors I follow, like Laurell K Hamilton, Jim Butcher, Anne Bishop and Robin Hobb. And I REALLY need to collect all the Brandon Sanderson books. I just want to have them all on my shelves!

In the latest Fairy Loot box was this reading journal.

The outside of this journal is everything I love in special editions of books - all foiled and pretty! The inside is a basic reading journal and I think it will be interesting in 2022 to fill this out for the books I read. Although I do log my reading on Goodreads, I think this will be fun.

But for now I need to finish up and get a review written for Thursday's blog which will be for a blog tour.
