Writing Wednesday - Week Two of Publish & Thrive
I have been out of my space for the past week, house sitting, pet sitting and granddaughter sitting. But I did take my 'stuff' with me.
After Week One of Publish and Thrive, my head is really spinning. I have a notebook now for the administrative work which I will need to do for self-publishing. I wanted a place for the basic, 'master list' type of stuff which will be needed on each book I put out there.
While the list seems to be huge, the videos and notes given in the class take a lot of the worry out of it. Sarra has set up things so well and I have them for reference as long as I need them. Plus she updates them as things change. Win-win!
But I have felt a bit out of step as my normal routine and my normal 'space' haven't been there this past week. I haven't written posts like I try to do regularly.
And we won't discuss the fact I had a blog tour post I needed to do. I didn't miss the date I was scheduled to post. I actually posted it a month early! So no biggie. Hopefully, it will draw more people to my blog.
I have been catching up on videos in general since Lady K is prone to interrupting constantly. I did stop at Office Depot on one of our outings in the rain and picked up some of the TUL disc binders and papers to set up my Master Notebook for information for self-publishing and to also set up a Book Journal.
My Master Writing Journal will have to include my author website information, cover art info, social media stuff, keywords and categories, and business expenses. I'm sure there will some more things I need to keep in one place and/or track, but will learn as I go along.
Another notebook I am setting up is a book journal. I have bits and pieces of TBR (to be read) lists and authors whose books I want to read the series of. So I am going to set up a notebook where I can add and subtract pages easily and keep the information handy.
I use Goodreads and log what I have read there. However, it's not easily to figure out where in a series I am needing to pick up. That's what happens when you watch a couple of videos on other people setting up book journals! So for fun and games and something to do while watching/listening to videos is my book journal.
But things are moving along. The 'actual writing' is a bit slow while going through the course, but I can see it all coming together in the end.
Maybe the first of next year book one in the series will be out, with book two released soon thereafter. I won't cross my fingers as I need them uncrossed in order to type.
