April Fool! - I'm Back!
April 1 starts Sarra Cannon's Rough Draft Challenge and I am dragging out Seven Deadly Murders to work on. With a lot of changes from the original start of the book. So it should be fun.
However...
There is A LOT of gardening which needs to be done!
I have managed the following so far...
- I did manage to get the bed for my wine cap mushrooms in already
- I have pretty much finished my asparagus harvest for the spring and will let it go to spread and increase for next year
- Potatoes are coming along and I need to pick up a bale of straw to add to the garden area
- I do have a makeshift fence up to block off the veggie garden from my large, 4-legged roommates. Now to get to clearing beds.
My greenhouse has been moved into the back yard, tucked into a south-west corner of the house. It will definitely be getting nice and toasty there. Which is why I have some shade cloth I need to drape over it. Right now it is full of peppers and tomatoes looking so good. And I have a garden mascot now.
I'm hoping he/she will be hanging around and making himself/herself at home in and about the greenhouse.
So with the greenhouse...
- Hang shade cloth
- Set up hydroponic 'tanks' with tomatoes and peppers
In the veggie garden itself...
- Plant out sweet peas and sugar snap peas
- Get planted all the greens and brassicas
- Create the beds for tomatoes and peppers
- Pot up some of the peppers
Actually, just get to planting!
I do have the herb bed in the front yard which needs the pathway redone. I need to get rid of the weeds and line the pathway with some of the pea gravel I have. Trees to plant. Beds to tidy up and plant seedlings in.
Oh, and did I mention I have two presentations coming up, one in about 10 days, the other in June.
