Seedy Saturday - The Garden Porn Has Started!

I opened my mailbox Friday afternoon to discover...

Seed Catalogs!

I have received my first two seed catalogs at my new home. I am so excited. I feel like a kid with a toy catalog, I'm circling all the things!

My 'plan' this year for the veggie garden is as follows:

• Plant only things I like to eat
• Expand my herbs
• Start with a no-till garden and then 'grow my garden'
• Try and start as many of the seedlings that I can 
• Save seeds where possible

This weekend I also plan on taking the 6 bags of seed heads and harvest the seeds. I also want to make my inventory list of what I have and package up seeds to send north to Montana. 

On my list for the coming week is to get a large bag of potting soil and start some winter sowing. I have already purchased a couple of seeds - comfrey and borage - to start. Will also get some lettuces and kales going. Sweet peas will follow and probably poppies. 

There are also some yard work I need to do. I can work ok in the chilly fall weather and need to clean up the back patio and move some leaves from my neighbor over onto where my garden will be.

But in the meantime, it's on the couch and dreaming of all the seeds I wish I could afford to buy!
