Week in Review - December 26, 2022 - January 1, 2023

Ok, this past week has been...

Well, a week!

For one thing, my body is like 'there is no way in hell we can walk for 8 straight hours'! I helped out in to-go because of someone quitting without notice and between the Christmas holiday and New Year's, it was busy. And I am still paying for it.

Plus, it definitely highlighted the extra pounds I put on during the holidays. Sigh.

But 3 days of 8 hours walking close to 5 miles each day - lets say my body is paying for it still. Luckily, I only have 1 more day to work in to-go this coming week and I managed to cut it down to a 6 hour shift.

Anyway...

Savvy's Christmas gifts arrived this week. I received some lovely stationary and a beautiful journal plus 2 small grapevine wreaths with witches bells on them. They are typically used to hang from a door knob  to keep out negativity from the home. I think one will go on my front door and another will hang somewhere in the house.

Other than working almost twice the hours I normally do, and then coming home to 'die', I did manage to make a really nice New Year Eve's dinner for myself. Plus we managed to go from below freezing weather to a balmy 60 in the space of a week.

Texter and Mr. Cobra left to visit his family in Florida and attend some kind of car-thing. So I am feeding cats and sugar gliders. And there may be a change in their residence coming up in the near future. Maybe.

I managed to close out the year by reading 156 books. I'm making the same goal of 150 for this year, but with all that is currently planned to go on and what may be coming, it may be a stretch to hit that number. I am pleased to note I already have 6 book blog tour dates scheduled between now and April so far.

This coming week...

  • Two blog tour posts to write
  • A visit to the campus of UNC-Charlotte to get my parking pass and figure out what building my class will be in
  • Feeding cats and sugar gliders
  • Prepare my seed inventory and see what needs to be sown 12 weeks out from the last frost date
  • Do a bit of garden tidying up and planting some bulbs (yes, I know I'm late getting them in the ground)

But for now, it's more coffee and finish up reading a blog tour book so I can write the post!
