Bookish Thursday - 2025 Reading Plans (Maybe?)

Having finished 210 books in 2024, I am excited to see how many I get through in 2025.

Now before everyone goes '210!!!' please remember - some of those are cookbooks and a few were really short.

My first book I have started in 2025 is HUGE!

At over 1300 pages, I was excited to get this book at the end of 2024. And I deliberately waited until January 1 to start it. But I am a bit concerned as there are a lot of people out there who are less than happy with the end of this 5 book arc. And I am already ticked off at one of the main characters.

But I am in no hurry to finish it, so I'll take my time. I also have it on audio, so I might switch over to listen to it at work. Holding this beast gets tiring after a bit.

The Dear Reader Book Club I belong to with the Gaston County Public Library has a really interesting line-up for the year. So there will be 11 books I know I will be reading.

Otherwise, I hope (which probably isn't realistic) to cut down on the number of new books I read and finish some of the 100's of books I have in my library I haven't read yet. I want to hit some of the 1000's of books I have on my Kindle (darn Stuff Your Kindle days!)

I would like to reread a couple of series.

Laurell K. Hamilton is supposed to (hopefully) release a new book in her Merry Gentry series. This was the series which turned me onto her books. And it has been years since she has written another book in this series. So fingers crossed on a new release.

'The Others' series from Anne Bishop is another reread. There are actually two branches in this world which I totally enjoy. And would love to see another book coming out in 2025.

An author I read a book from last year, T. J. Klune, has become an obsession with me. I have really enjoyed his Green Creek series is fantastic. I have finished the first 2 book and have the third book in hand. Book 4 is to be released this year. Love me some werewolves!

Just an FYI...

This is Klune's ADULT series. So it does get a bit spicy.

I also have some nonfiction I need to finish up. In fact, I have several books sitting on my shelf which I have started and need to finish up, but these are the ones I am concentrating on first.

Another handful of books I hope to get off my TBR shelf are these...

Two are for book clubs and the third is for a book blog tour review.

Besides Sanderson's latest book on my audio list, I also have John Gwynne's latest, The Fury of the Gods. Plus I want to continue on reading the Tony and Anne Hillerman mysteries.

So there it is. No TV binge watching for me in January! It will be curling up in a chair in the evening and reading.

What's on your list?
