Positive Focus Sunday - 'Watch-ing'
I think I received my first wrist watch while in middle grade. That was back in the Middle Ages! In fact, I recently came across a small hoard of watches in a box. They had all been discarded because I wound them too tight.
Yes, back in the day you had to manually wind your watch.
Anyway...
I am almost 5 months into my full 'retirement'. I won't deny there are times when I look at my wallet and wonder if I should go back to work part-time. The feeling does go away quickly, I must say.
But there is something which I have noticed...
I AM NOT CONSTANTLY WEARING A WATCH!
There hasn't been a time in the past fifty-something years where I didn't get up in the morning and put my watch on. Or in more recent times, wearing my watch to bed (how can I get the results of my sleep without my watch on?)
And while I will probably always have a lesser tan line on my left wrist, that line is getting less white every day. In fact, there have been a couple of times where I have forgotten where I took it off and had to look for my Apple Watch.
While I won't completely go without a watch I don't feel, it is strange how quickly I have adjusted to not wearing one 24/7. I do like having it one when driving somewhere as it is easy to glance at my watch to be sure I am following navigational directions correctly. Or to see messages that come in.
So having a watch on has become much less of a necessity in the past few months. And I feel it's not a bad thing.
Note: 'losing' the bra has taken much less of an adjustment!
