Writing Wednesday - Still In the Works!

A lot of my writing goes on in my head and not on paper. And that's the case with Seven Deadly Murders

While the basic premise is still the same, I have been mulling over a few points which were giving me trouble.

Which has lead to the backstory for the main character changing somewhat. To me, at least, it makes where she is when the story starts more believable. The changes she is going through while the story takes place will seem much more logical. Plus, there is a bit on a couple of other characters which have been tweaked a bit.

In addition to the name of the some of the characters being changed (or are they?), the name of the town has been changed from Troy (there is a town by that name already in Montana), to Monks Abbey. That lends itself to being a bigger part of the story.

Some of what I have already written can be salvaged. Some will have to be altered a bit. And still some thrown away.

That being said, I need to revise my plotting notebook with all my notes and names and timeline with the new information. A bit of a bummer, but at least I am not starting completely from scratch.

Sarra Cannon at Heart Breathings will be running a Rough Draft Challenge in July. That gives me plenty of time to rework the plotting notebook - getting all my notes and ideas out of my head and onto paper for the revised plot.

A pleasant upshot is with the revised backstory for Lindsay Cokes, the main character, it also means there could possibly turn this from a stand alone to a duology.

I am also considering releasing tidbits of the chapters as I go along. So stay tuned.
