Week in Review - October 2 - 8, 2023

Ok, so technically I am a day late posting this. But for some reason, for someone who claims she has no 'life', I've been a bit busy this week.

First off, the week pretty much started with a round of annual doctor appointments. The dermatologist for a body scan to see if I have any 'suspicious' moles, then the eye doctor who bumped up my glasses prescription just a tad. Now to go around to Sam's Club to order new glasses.

Then, while Mr. Cobra's Tesla was in the shop, he drove my White Knight down to watch a soccer game of Lady K's on Tuesday. I repeated the trip on Friday to watch her practice (only 4 of the team members showed up) and to bring her back for a weekend with us.

I also started getting in some of my Extension Master Gardener volunteer hours by working at the Webb Street School here in Gastonia. It is a special needs school with fantastic facilities. They have a hydro- and aquaponics set-up where they grow lettuces for area restaurants. There is also several large raised beds and a couple of smaller set-ups for their students who are in wheelchairs. Plus a large greenhouse when they plant and propagate plants for their annual plant sale in the spring. So much fun!

There was some work on my 7 Deadly Murders outline (more about that tomorrow) and some reading for the next book blog tours coming up, one this week and one next week. I am actually pretty well booked for almost every Thursday until mid-December at this point in time with book reviews.

The weather has turned officially into fall and I am loving the chilly evenings. Hopefully, the cooler weather will get me out into the yard more to get tulip bulbs planted and a lot of organization and clean-up done.

Oh...

And when referring to 'Texter' in the future, she will now be known as 'Foxy'!

I figure with her recent marriage, she deserves the name change. Plus she is becoming known with a small group of streamers on Twitch where she not only streams herself, but she helps moderate their live stream chats. She and Mr. Cobra have really ramped up their streaming and game play online recently and she is loving it. But on Twitch and Instagram she is Fox Behind the Tree.

This coming week...

  • One garden club meeting
  • Picking up Lady K for a long weekend with us
  • Movie night with Foxy, Mr. Cobra and Lady K
  • Two mornings before work at Webb Street School working in the greenhouse
  • Lots of Preptober work and post writing, both for here and on the herb society website
  • Making some sourdough bread (hopefully)

But in the meantime, even though I am off today I have a lot to do! So more coffee and nose to the grindstone.
