Week in Review - September 25 - October 1, 2023

My little friend above was discovered in the High Point University conservatory. The Extension Master Gardeners went on a WONDERFUL trip on Thursday. We explored many of the gardens on the grounds of this lovely, almost fairy tale, college. But there will be a longer post with pictures coming in a few days. Plus, we were on a bus, so I didn't have to drive!

The last session of my 'Healthy Living with Diabetes' class ended. I am looking into going lacto-ovo-vegetarian. Maybe. 

I also managed to write 7 posts last week, which included two book blog tour books. I have 9 more to do over the next couple of months. Fun, but looking at my stack of library books, I have A LOT of reading to do.

Reading, which might be an issue as 'Preptober' has started. I know what I'm going to write. It will be a cozy-ish mystery. I have some things to work out - things I will be mulling over this month as I write an outline for the story or stories. One of my issues is do I turn it into a trilogy? One book? Yep, a few wrinkles left to iron out. Plus, I need Texter to assist with coming up with names. Basically, I need to get a bit organized and get all my notes, ideas, etc. in one place before November 1.

 ARE MARRIED!

It actually was almost not happening. They had the license, but there wasn't an opening with the magistrates in their county for the 60 days the license would be valid. So they came to my county and squeezed in in the final days of validity. 

A friend of Robby's and I were the witnesses. The magistrate was really nice. The downside was both Texter and I were hoping for a little 'drama' in the magistrates office since it is located in the Sheriff's Office. But nothing happened. 

We went afterwards to Texas Roadhouse for dinner afterwards to 'celebrate'. Then home and everyone went to work the next day. No muss, no fuss, and no thousands of dollars spent. They are planning a party later own with friends and family.

This week...

• Another soccer game with Lady K. Not sure if I have to be the driver or not right now. 
• Two doctor's appointments - dermatologist and eye doctor
• Picking up Lady K at the end of the week after soccer practice
• Lots of planning on writing and yard week - plus reading!

But for now, it's packing snacks and making coffee to take to work.
