In her latest book, Tales From a Rogue Ranger, McHenry shares her experiences about the rough and tumble life of a patrol ranger near Auburn, California. Now for my opinion...

First off, this is an easy read. Not only is it interesting, but with stories contained in separate chapters, it is a great book to pick up and put down. Like when you are a camping trip and relaxing around the campfire.

McHenry's book is proof the hardest job a ranger has isn't dealing with nature - the animals and environment. It's the humans! So actually, being a park ranger is more of keeping people from hurting themselves and other humans, rather than dealing with the four-legged animals.

If you have ever been to a state or national park, wanting to relax and view the wildlife, only to have the 'wildlife' be the rowdy crowd which is in the area next to where you are camping, you can understand what rangers have to deal with.

The book takes a humorous look at the experiences McHenry and her husband (also a ranger) have had over many years. And despite the downs, she managed to keep her sense of humor and patience with the two-legged animals she had to deal with.

So pick up this book for a humorous look into the life of a park ranger. And no, bison are not something you can pet. Bears are not cuddly. And excessive alcohol does not enhance your park experience!

But don't take my word for it. Check out these other reviews...
