Seedy Saturday - Everything's 'Peachy'
It has been a rainy few days. Ok, it has been rainy for over a week now.
I am slowly getting things planted, but definitely not as fast as I need to. However, Elberta Peach, which has peaches on her, is doing well. Little Contender has about 6 peaches on him. I have gone through Elberta and removed some of the 'doubled-up' peaches. I can't wait for be able to pick a peach off the tree to eat.
Elsewhere in the garden...
My Fordhook Lima Beans and my green beans in containers are starting to put on blooms. I keep hoping they will put out more leaves soon. But am hopeful for a nice mess of beans off both of them.
My Star Jasmine is covered in blooms. Now if it will grow more 'up' than 'across'. I have it by the front porch and would like it to grow up on the porch railing.
From a friend, gifted last year, is my Valerian.
I managed not to kill it over the past year, and it is up about 2.5 feet tall right now. So happy about its growth.
And then there are the surprises.
One thing about using compost I created, is when I place it around plants in the yard...
I have some 'volunteer' tomatoes!
This one is nestled in next to one of the Nanking Cherry bushes. I won't move it. I'll let it grow and see what kind of tomato it is. There are some around my 5-Cherry tree in the back yard too.
While my progress hasn't been all that good, the garden is doing well anyway.
