Tuesday Sundries - Queen City Brewers Festival 2020
While living in Helena (the Queen City), Savvy, Texter and I volunteered at the Montana Brewers festival for several years. And loved it! It was the one time during the year I drank beer.
Now I'm in Charlotte. Also considered the Queen City. And also with a beer festival. In this case it's the Queen City Brewers Festival and it supports Aceing Autism.
With both of us taking Saturday off, we arrived at the indoor venue to take up our posts as volunteers.

We picked up our hoodies and staff badges and reported for duty. The hoodie is thin and form fitting. It provides additional motivation to lose weight!
Our duties here were different than what we did before. It was scanning tickets and id's and applying wristbands. In the past we were pourers for a brewery. This event, the vendors had their own pourers. Of course, since they were all local brewers, they didn't have to drive hundreds of miles to attend.
We also emptied rinse buckets and cleaned up a few spills and table tops.
Our tasting glass and badge!
One notable difference at this event was the number of food places represented - bison Mac & cheese, donuts, pretzels, chips, cookies, seafood and popcorn to name a few. It was nice to be able to put something on your stomach along with the beer.
And a chance to sample all kinds of unique flavored beers!
But my favorite is picking up all the stickers and coasters. The artwork for breweries is so cool.
I think I am going to get a piece of poster board and applying some of the stickers to it and hanging it on the wall. Until next year.
So yes. This event was fun. Not hard work at all. Great people who were volunteering with us.
We will be back in 2021!
