Positive Focus Sunday - Good Friends and Good Times

This morning I am feeling every one of my 66 years.

The past two days I have spent doing more strenuous garden chores. I've moved about 300 bricks and FINALLY mowed down the tallest grass ever in my yard. Now I am ready to mow the yard again at my desired height. And start clearing veggie garden beds and get things into the garden and out of the greenhouse.

But yesterday afternoon was delightful.

I have never really been one for going over to someone's house and sitting and talking and relaxing. But yesterday I did. I was there to talk about some possible programs for a gardening group, pick up some plants she was thinning out and to take her some plants.

Four hours later, after a delightful stint on her back deck, under the oak trees, looking over the iris in her back yard and into the pastures beyond I left...

With a car full of day lilies and hellebores!

And this gem!

Her husband is very talented in the workshop and had several pallets he needed to get rid of. She had seen a similar idea and asked him to make a couple to show the herb group as something we could make and plant up for next year's sale. And they gifted one to me!

Now I have to decide how to stain or paint it to protect the wood and what to plant in it. With the liner being removable (and yes, I need to put some holes in the bottom), I can plant it with something I want to protect during the winter. I have a couple of ideas on what to put in it that is in my greenhouse. Will have to see what I decide on.

Gardening friends are good friends!
