Week in Review - June 26 - July 16, 2023

Ok...so combining 3 weeks into 1!

And at times that is what it feels like.

However, the common thread holding this time together is 'heat and humidity'. The one thing which will wipe me out like crazy.

My mantra these days is 'I need to mow the grass'. But in the mornings it is too wet from the dew and in the evenings I'm too tired or it is too late. I am just going to have to bite the bullet I feel.

But a quick run down of my life these days...

  • Day long 2 garden tour and lunch with the Master Gardeners
  • Tour de France has started (it's been pretty good so far)
  • Picked up Lady K for 3 weeks with us
  • Celebrated 4th of July with Texter, Mr. Cobra and Lady K
  • Watched them play with the wild bunnies
  • Completed one book review
  • Got a 'puzzle' craze going on - three jigsaw puzzles finished
  • Blanket started for someone (more details in a few weeks)
  • Acknowledged feeling like crap, so made doctor's appointment to have pre diabetes checked out
  • Herb Society meeting
  • Did a presentation on pollinators for the group
  • Made some kale chips - like eating flavored air
  • Spent an afternoon with Lady K for snow cones and art supplies
  • Got Mr. Cobra's old grill home and on the porch
  • Had a FaceTime call with Miss Oklahoma for about 45 minutes - so much fun!
  • Fed Mr. Cobra's and Texter's pets while they were at HILTON HEAD with his family (Lady K was there too)
  • Made a list of Herb Society to-do's, mainly about a planner we are creating
  • 12 posts written
  • Finished 6 books
  • Picking a few tomatoes out of the garden - they are not happy with this weather
  • Found out co-worker leaving, but Texter coming back to work with me

This coming week...

  • Posts for the Herb Society website
  • Start in earnest on the planner for the group
  • Evening out with Lady K - Olive Garden and Lights in the Garden
  • MOW the damn yard
  • Pray for some rain
  • Last week of the Tour de France

But for now, some coffee to 'grease' the muscles and get moving. Will be attempting to tame the yard a bit before it heats up too much and I have to go to work.
