Week in Review - May 10-16, 2021

I'm still trying to 'get in the groove' of being off work most of the week and then working on the weekends. Plus tie up loose ends around the house and yard. Or may I should say start projects around the house and yard because all my stuff is here now (except for a banana tree in a large pot).

Slider has doubled in size and weight. Today will be booster shots at the vet for him. Hopefully, he will sleep most of the day afterwards.

This past week has been filled with food and getting bits and. pieces of the house and garden organized. Like the following -

  • Made a loaf of bread
  • Started sourdough starter
  • Made a batch of strawberry/rum jam
  • Made a peach cobbler
  • Made 2 strawberry cakes, one went to work with me
  • Organized the bathroom and tidied it up
  • Hung curtains to hide the washer/dryer from the rest of the house
  • Mowed the yard for the first time with my new electric mower
  • Started a 'to Goodwill' box - sorted through cookbooks and culled several
  • Bagged up about 100 DVD's to take in to trade for credit
  • Finished unpacking all the kitchen boxes
  • Have boxes for upstairs all in one spot

I also managed to fit in -

  • Playing some World of Warcraft
  • Writing a few posts
  • Reading - finished 4 books
  • Starting a jigsaw puzzle
  • Discovering a new-to-me plant place in Gastonia

This coming week -

  • Move all the tomatoes to one area in the back yard
  • Mark out beds on one side in the front yard
  • Try to find a place to dump cardboard
  • Put hooks on the porch for hanging baskets
  • Start staking tomatoes
  • Get all the left over garden stuff semi-organized under the house
  • Put blueberry bushes, grape vine and fig tree in their holes
  • Plant all the flowers and bulbs I have sitting around

But for now, it time to get some breakfast and get ready to take Slider to the vet.
