Week in Review - May 3 - 9

Sunday was my first day back at work in a month. And it reinforced my decision to 'cut back' hours and go part time. In other words, it kicked my butt! And I left an hour early!

So now I have 4 days off before I go back for slightly shorter days just cutting up fruits and vegetables.

On the home front -

One of the two 'transplanted' cats, Lily, is coming around with the move. Still not totally happy, but she has at least come out of hiding behind boxes and bins, unlike Nutter. She does enjoy the plant table by the kitchen window. I might have to rethink 'decorating' the kitchen.

While Lily is enjoying laying on the table in the kitchen, I was busy outside on Saturday 'going to bed'.

I set up two 4x4 raised beds in the yard. Pay no mind to the shade over them. That particular tree will be removed soon by my neighbor. Then the beds will be in the sun just about all day. The bed on the left is filled with veggies - zucchini, yellow squash, and several peppers, parsley, cilantro, onions and a couple of flowers.

The bed on the right is mainly flowers. With a few 'blocks' still available for planting. I really need to go through my seeds. I have several tubs I will be planting with beans - pole and bush varieties.

While I have the peppers, eggplant and tomatillo in the raised beds, I have 27 tomatoes I need to get into pots. Which is my task this week.

Otherwise this past week...
  • Had Lady K all week, running her to/from school
  • Trip to Elijah Mountain Gem Mine with Lady K
  • Moved plants over to the new house
  • Worked in the garden
  • Walked 19 miles, which means I hit over 5000 steps 5 out of 7 days
  • While I haven't finished any books this past week, I have been reading a lot
  • Moved from full time to part time at work

This coming week...
  • More boxes, bins and gardening
  • Three days of produce work
  • Menu planning and bread making
  • Relaxing a bit
  • Finish at least one book which is designated for a blog tour next week!

But for now, it's time for a rainy Monday morning breakfast of a blueberry Dutch Baby pancake.
