Week In Review - January 14 - 20

UGH!

Sore throat, headache, ears stuffed up, aches....arrived Saturday morning as I was getting up. To the point I missed going to Gulch Distillers for their class on Brunch Drinks.

And while I felt a drink or two might have made me feel better, I didn't think it was fair to 'share' what I may or may not have.

Another thing I discovered on Saturday was I really, really dislike picking up stitches when crocheting or knitting. I am at the point on my second Charlotte Dream's block where I have to go around the block, picking up stitches in the side of the triangles. This establishes the outer borders. And I have single-crocheted, ripped it out, crocheted again and then ripped out and put it down. I'll try when I'm feeling a bit better.

This was a fun little discovery and now I would love to make a quilt with circles. The above is made up of colors from my Instagram feed in 2017 by Year of Colour

The highlight of the week happened on Monday. Texter received the first of her two certificates and Associates Degree she is working for. She is now a 'certified' Computer Skills Specialist. I am so proud of her.

Texter's last semester has started and we are starting to look at houses to rent until she gets a job in Charlotte and we can buy a house.

Otherwise this week...

  • 9 books finished off
  • Wrote 2823 words, mainly on blog posts and not counting some journaling I did
  • Almost finished another Charlotte's Dream block with a change in color placement
  • Started working on an expanded version of a current Leapforce project (my work-at-home) which will net me more dollars per month
  • Watched 'The Kingsman - The Golden Circle' which was fun and made me feel a bit better (despite having to rip out crocheting)
  • Wrote 7 posts

For the coming week...

  • Watch 'Victoria & Abdul' with Savvy on her day off, which drinking tea and eating scones
  • Make scones for the above!
  • Finish up the Charlotte Dream's block and start on number 3
  • Finish 10 blocks for the On Ringo Lake Quilt
  • Work on my cross stitch picture
  • Meal planning for the rest of the week
  • Get on the exercise train! Need more movement in my life.

But for now, it's time for more coffee and to start breakfast.
