Week in Review - January 4 - 10, 2021

Well, what a week it has been. From the protestors in Washington to the threat of snow here in Charlotte.

Actually, I ended last week with a phone call from Mr. RaceCar to tell me he was taking Texter to Urgent Care. It seems she had done something to her right shoulder. And this was as I was sitting in South Carolina waiting to bring Lady K back from her dad's house.

So I drove her home, packed up her clothes, computers, games, Legos and everything else we could think of and brought her home with me.

Texter has a pinched nerve and spent 3 days on muscle relaxers and steroids. I kept Lady K until Wednesday afternoon. I called off work on Monday and had Tuesday and Wednesday off anyway. Not exactly how I expected, or wanted, my days off to be. It's hard to do what I needed to do (writing) with school going on in my room at the same time.

After she got out of school early on Wednesday, we did a mini-tour of some Goodwill stores. I picked up a couple of Delft plates to set places on to catch water and a limited edition big mug for the Carolina Renaissance Faire from 2005. The mug was 99 cents!

Yesterday I did manage to get some 'work' done at home. I am going a Patreon class given by one of the YouTubers I have been following for years now. It's taking me deeper in astrology, tarot and spell work. I'm excited.

After the non-snow event on Thursday into Friday, I needed to get outside for a bit. It's been cold here - for us. The seeds I sowed in December are sprouting. Lettuce and spinach are going great. I had purchased more potting soil and sat on the patio Sunday afternoon and filled more containers with mainly flowers.

I also brought home from work about 3 dozen buckets we receive cut flowers in. More free planters for the flowers and veggies! I was wondering what I was going to do with all the flowers, but I think a good portion of them will be planted in the buckets (so I can move them when I get my own home) and will set them in the beds in front of the house. There isn't much there, so they will had a lot of color to the front yard this spring and summer.

Otherwise this week...

  • I picked up a post-it note pad which I am using for my weekly menu planning
  • Finished 3 books
  • Got my hair cut
  • Was accepted for another blog tour
  • Made a batch of 'Granny Soup' to eat on this week

This coming week...
  • Going to be busy at work as we are upping the number of phones on from 5 to 6
  • Starting the online course for 'Save the Cat' for the blog tour
  • Get my notebooks lined up for my 'When Frogs Sing' class on astrology, tarot, spell work
  • Menu plan for another week
  • GET SOME REAL WRITING DONE!

But for now, it's time to grab some coffee and head to work.
