Seedy Saturday - Pretty, But Dangerous

It's that time of the summer when the heat and lack of water have really taken a toll on plants. While there are touches of loveliness...

there is 'danger' lurking in the garden.

I have two pitcher plants I purchased at Farmer's Market at the beginning of summer. I set them in a plastic bin so they could sit in water to simulate the boggy conditions they like.

But on closer examination, it's amazing how lovely they are.

Beautiful coloration, almost lacy looking, on slender tubes. Slender tubes which contain...

Bugs!

All the pitchers in the two pots of plants have bugs in them. They should be set for months now.

Danger lurks behind a pretty face.
